Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a kind of disease characterized by hyperglicemia or high glucose in bloodstream caused by disorders of insulin secretion or/and insulin activity. Hyperglicemia can be proved by fasting plasma glucose and two hours plasma glucose post prandial routine check laboratorium examination. Preventing chronic compilation, DM control required blood glucose levels control. More trusted DM examination method is A1c (HbA1c) haemoglobin check. The aim of the research is discovering the correlation between fasting blood glucose levels and two hours blood glucose levels post prandial with A1c haemoglobin levels. The research used observational analytic research design with cross sectional approachment. It used secondary data with 40 data sampling type-2 DM patients. The research was conducted in Junuary - April 2018 in RSUD Dr. Moewardi (RSDM) Surakarta. Statistic analysis was done by Shapiro-Wilk test for data normality and Person Correlation test. The result of the research shows fasting plasma glucose average is 200 mg/sL, two hours plasma glucose post prandial is 239 mg/sL and A1c (HbA1c) average level is 9,7%. Correlation test result with Person Correlation test has probability value 0,001 (p<0,05) and correlation coeffisient 0,505 for correlation between fasting blood glucose with A1c (HbA1c) and probability value 0,001 (p<0,05)correlation coeffisient 0,497 for correlation between two hours plasma glucose post prandial with A1c (HbA1c). So, it can be concluded that there is a correlation between fasting blood glucose levels and two hours blood glucose levels post prandial with A1c (HbA1c) haemoglobin levels in type-2 diabetes mellitus patient.
