Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a disease characterized by persistent hyperglycemia and varied, especially after eating. Diabetes is the sixth leading cause of death due to chronic disease. In 2030, Indonesia is expected to have 21.3 million people with diabetes.An increasing number ofpeople with diabetes because of the lack of knowledge eabout DM. The purpose of this study to determine the relationship between family knowledge about diabetes with the incidence of diabetes in the rural Krowe districts Magetan. This research is a descriptive analytic cross sectional design. The sample in this study is Krowe checks glucose levels in health centers by 44 respondents. The characteristics of this research is, DM 13 respondents was female and non DM 12 respondents was female, DM 15 respondents work are self-employed and non-DM 11 respondents work are self-employed, and education of respondents DM 13 respondents were primary school and non-DM 12 respondents were primary school. From the research results r.hitung 0.833 and Sig (1-tailed) of 0.000 (<0.05) H0 and H1 is accepted. This indicates a significant relationship between the level of knowledge of the incidence of DM in the village Krowe Keywords: Diabetes Mellitus, DM knowledge.
