Diabetes mellitus type II is the most common type of diabetes compared with the type II. The science in diabetes mellitus treatment develops very rapidly, in the presence of various types of anti-diabetic agents. The objectives of study were to analyze the number of metformin and glibenclamide use and to find out the significant difference between metformin and glibenclamide uses as oral anti-diabetic agent in Dr. Moewardi Hospital. This study was organized based on the result of research on dr. Moewardi Local General Hospital. The research was conducted by collecting data from drug use recapitulation data stored in the computer of Dr. Moewardi Hospital. The method used was to collect the data in the field based on the drug use in 2013. The result of observation was analyzed using Independent sample t-test and SPSS version 17. From the result of data processed, it could be found that there was a significant difference. It was confirmed by the presence of data on metformin use of 124870 tablets and on glibenclamide of 21368 tablets. The result of data processing using SPSS 17, particularly in t-test table, showed that the Lavene’s Test obtained significance level of 0.000 < 0.050; therefore H0 was not supported. So there was a significant difference of metformin and glibenclamide uses as Diabetes Mellitus medicine. __________________________________________________________________ Keywords: Metformin, Glibenclamide, anti-diabetic, Dr. Moewardi Hospital
