Abstract
Feminine hygiene soap is a soap that generally contains many chemical compounds in order to maintain hygiene and kill pathogenic bacteria and fungus in vagina. This research aims to determine the anti-fungus sensitivity and compare the most effective anti-fungus in the anti-fungus feminine hygiene soap samples of “X” brand and “Y” brand toward the Candida albicans ATCC 10231 fungus. This research was done by using paper discs diffusion method. The paper discs were soaked in the test samples with 6 series of concentrations which are 6.25%, 3.125%, 1.56%, 0.78%, 0.39%, and 0.19% for 3 hours. This research uses 2% fluconazole as the positive control, sterilized aquades as the negative control, and three replications. The result observation was seen based on the existence of clear zones around the discs. The most spacious clear zone indicates the best antifungus sensitivity. The result of this research is that the test samples have the activity as antifungus towards the Candida albicans ATCC 10231. The largest resistor zone is owned by teh test sample of brand “X” having the content of Betel Leaf Extract or Piper Betle Leaf Extract the avarage 70mm inhibitory power and the brand “Y” has the widest drag zone 19mm and nonparametic Test with its sig 0,00<0,05 so there is a real difference from both test samples.
