Abstract
Hypertension is a condition where a person experiences an increase in blood pressure above normal, which is higher than 140 mmHg systolic or 90 mmHg diastolic. Hypertension was instrumental to the cause of death of thousands of people, due to associated diseases are dangerous, such as stroke, heart attack, heart failure, and kidney failure. This study aims to determine the use of antihypertensives on hypertension patients with heart failure inpatients at RSUP Dr. Soeradji Tirtonegoro Klaten in 2011 and 2012 based on the type and quantity of antihypertensive use, calculated by using ATC / DDD. The result of the use of antihypertensive calculated as the Defined Daily Dose (DDD) per 100 patient days and based on the criteria DU90%. The results showed that use of antihypertensive drugs furosemide, captopril, valsartan, amlodipine, spironolactone, verapamil, bisoprolol, nifedipine and lisinopril. The most widely used is furosemide (46 299% in 2011, 47 068% in 2012). Furosemide is a potent diuretics are effective for the treatment of edema due to heart failure. Suitability of antihypertensive drugs used in this study 40% according to DOEN 2011, 30% in accordance with the hospital formulary, and 100% according to the JNC 7.
