Abstract

Inflammation is a response to tissue damage caused by physical or chemical stimuli. Inflammation is the body's attempt to inactivate or destroy organisms that attack removes irritants, and regulate tissue repair. The purpose of this study was to determine the anti-inflammatory effects of the ethanol extract of the takokak fruit (Solanum torvum Sw.) and determine dose which affect as antiinflammatory in the white male mice wistar strain. Tests of anti-inflammatory effect carried out by 6 groups of mice, each group induced karagenin. Each group was given treatment, the first group was given Metyl Prednisolone, a second group was given 1% CMC, the third group was given extract of takokak fruit 105 mg / kg BW, the fourth group was given extract of takokak fruit 210 mg / kg BW, the fifth group was given extract of takokak fruit 560 mg / kg BW. Udema then measured for 24 hours and calculated its AUC to obtain the results of anti-inflammatory %. The results showed that the extract of takokak fruit had anti-inflammatory effects which induced karagenin. Increased doses of takokak extract (Solanum torvum Sw.) could affect the anti-inflammatory activity. The most effective dose in inhibiting edema volume in male white mice and equivalent to Metyl Prednisolone was 210 mg / kg BW dose. Keywords: Metyl Prednisolone, the extract of takokak fruit (Solanum torvum Sw.), anti-inflammatory.
