Abstract

Root som java, red ginger and Piper retrofractum fruit is a simplicia which is used to overcome fatigue (tonic). The purpose of this study to determine the activity tonic infusa a combination of roots som java, red ginger and Piper retrofractum fruit, and to find the best tonic activity between infusa combination of roots som java, red ginger and Piper retrofractum fruit. This study test animals grouped into 5 test groups and each group consisted of 5 male white mice as follows: Group I (formula 1) infusa root som java 6,24 mg/20 g BB, group II (formula 2) infusa combintion of roots som java, red ginger and Piper retrofractum fruit (1:1:1) 6,24 mg/20 g BB, group III (formula 3) infusa combination of roots som java, red ginger and Piper retrofractum fruit (2:1:1) 6,24 mg/20 g BB, group IV (negative control) distilled water, group V (positive control) caffeine 0,26 mg/20 g BB. The study was conducted with mice allow to swim, and then observed and recorded the time tired before and after treatment. The results showed that the dosage and combination of roots som java, red ginger and Piper retrofractum fruit has a tonic activity against strains of Swiss white male mice. The average addition of a tired formula I, II and III respectively is 4,60, 22,32 and 18,60 minutes. Key words : java som root, red ginger, Piper retrofractum fruit, tonic, infusa
