Abstract
Type-1 diabetes is due to systemic disorders of glucose metabolism disorders characterized by chronic hyperglycemia. This situation is caused by the destruction of pancreatic β-cells either by an autoimmune process or idioptaik so that insulin production is reduced even stalled. WHO has predicted the incidence of diabetes mellitus in Indonesia tends to increase from year to year. This study aims to describe the use of antidiabetic drugs in patients with diabetes mellitus type I in the Hospital Inpatient Installation Pare in 2013 and determine the suitability of the use of anti-diabetic patients with type I diabetes mellitus Pare Hospital Formulary and AACE (American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists). This study is a descriptive study with retrospective data collection. The data used are secondary data obtained from the medical records of patients with diabetes mellitus type I, which contains the identity of type I diabetes mellitus patients and the use of antidiabetic drugs. Data were analyzed with formulary and AACE (American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists). The use of antidiabetic medication used by patients with diabetes mellitus type I in hospitalized patients Pare Hospital during 2013 is insulin, sulfonylurea class, and the biguanide class. The results showed that the suitability of the use of antidiabetes in Pare Hospital in 2013 with a formulary based trade name and generic name of the type I diabetes mellitus patients in hospitals Pare stated 100%. Suitability of drug dosage based AACE is 100% for the use of sulfonylurea class and the biguanide class. While the appropriateness of the use of Actrapid and Humulin N 78.41% at 94.44%.
