Abstract

Hypertension is a blood pressure above the normal limits agreed, if diastolic> 80 mmHg or systolic> 130 mmHg. This disease is a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease and microvascular complications such as nephropathy and retinopathy. This study aims to determine the use of antihypertensives in hypertensive patients with diabetes mellitus hospitalized in hospitals Caruban in 2012 and 2013 seen from the type of antihypertensive used and the quantity of its use by DDD as well as compliance with the hospital formulary and JNC 7 guidelines. This study is a descriptive study is to collect retrospective data on patients hospitalized hypertensive with diabetes mellitus in Caruban Hospital in 2012 and 2013 with ATC / DDD methods. Furthermore DDD/100 HR and the percentage calculated to be made DU90% profiles and accumulated. The results of this study based on quantitative analysis method of ATC / DDD the most in 2012 was 32.89% amlodipine and in 2013 was 51.85% amlodipine. Antihypertensives were included in the DU 90% segment in 2012 are amlodipine, furosemide, captopril, HCT, valsartan, while in 2013 are amlodipine, irbesartan, valsartan, and losartan. Based on the level of use of antihypertensive compliance with hospital formulary by 88.89% and compliance with JNC 7 guidelines in 2012 and 2013 are 100%.
