Abstract
Cockroaches are a pest on homes and warehouses. Cockroaches can be a vector of some parasitic diseases. Cockroaches can spread the parasite into the food through protozoan cysts and worm eggs attached to the body. Cockroaches as mechanical vectors of pathogens in humans. Cockroaches can cause allergies in humans with the effects of skin dermatitis, eyelid edema, itching and other allergic reactions This study used a random sampling technique. The research was conducted at Parasitology Laboratory of Faculty of Health Sciences Setia Budi University, Surakarta. The examination method used is physiological NaCl precipitation method then microscopic observation. Based on the results of identification of intestinal nematodes on Periplaneta americana cockroach obtained in Surakarta Nusukan market found 1 sample with percentage of 5% infected with Hookworm larvae filariform stage.
