Abstract
Breast cancer (Ca mammae) is one of the most severe malignancies and has a high mortality rate in women. C-reactive protein is an acute phase protein produced by the liver in response to inflammation. Platelets are nucleated blood cells derived from cytoplasmic megakaryocytes. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between CRP and platelet parameters in breast cancer patients. The sampling technique in this study was concecutive sampling. Patients were taken according to inclusion and exclusion criteria, the sample size was 55 samples. When the study was conducted in January-April 2019 at the RSDM in Surakarta. Sources of research data are secondary data obtained from the medical records of the Clinical Pathology Laboratory and Anatomical Pathology Laboratory of patients diagnosed with breast cancer and data analysis techniques using thetest Kolmogorov Smirnovand then followed by thetest Pearson. The results showed a correlation coefficient (r) MPV of 0.183, probability (p) of 0.181 and a correlation coefficient (r) of PDW of -0.009, probability (p) of 0.946. Therefore, this value indicates that there is no correlation between CRP with MPV and CRP with PDW. Need further research using primary data, so that it knows the factors that influence CRP reduction and platelet parameters.
