Abstract

Fasciolopsis buski and Fasciola hepatica are parasites, the largest Trematodes that can infect animals and humans. Infestation of F. buski and F. hepatica into the human body because of drinking raw water and consuming aquatic plants such as kale, genjers and other aquatic plants containing infective metacercariae. The aim of this study was to determine the presence or absence of F. buski and F. hepatica metacercariae and to determine the percentage of metacercariae in water spinach and genjer water plants. Identification of F. buski and F. hepatica metacercariae in water spinach and genjer aquatic plants was carried out by sedimentation method in 25 samples using 500ml water. Identification by centrifuge and microscopic methods. Centrifuge of 3000rpm for 10 minutes sample slides with glass objects were observed at 10x and 40x magnification objectives. The results of this study showed that there was no identification of Metacercariae Fasciolopsis buski and Fasiola hepatica in Kangkung aquatic plants (Ipomoea aquatica forsk) and Genjer (Limnocharis flava) in Surakarta. The percentage of F. buski metacercariae and F. hepatia in Kangkung and Genjer was 0%. Keywords: Metacercariae, Fasciolopsis buski, Fasciola hepatica, kale, gernjer
