Abstract

Binahong (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) and Soursop (Annona muricata L.) are herbs medicinal plants containing saponin compounds, flavonoids, alkaloids, terpenoids, tannins. The purpose of this research is to know the antibacterial activity of ethanolic extract of binahong leaf and soursop leaves to Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria. Binahong leaf extract and soursop leaves were obtained by maceration method with 96% ethanol solvent. Test method of antibacterial activity by diffusion method. Dilution of leaf extract of binahong and soursop leaf was made in various comparison and 80% concentration using DMSO 2%. The results of this study showed that the leaves extract of binahong and soursop leaves have antibacterial activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Ethanolic extract of binahong leaf and sours leaves of 1: 0, 0: 1, 1: 1, 1: 2 and 2: 1 ratio of antibacterial activity to Pseudomonas aeruginosa pus patients with mean inhibitory zone were 9.67, 8.33, 7.67, 9.00, and 8.33. Ethanolic extract of binahong leaf and sours leaves of comparison 1: 0, 0: 1, 1: 1, 1: 2 and 2: 1 have antibacterial activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa laboratory culture with mean inhibit zone respectively is 9.33, 7.67, 7.33, 8.67, and 8.00. The resulting drag zone diameter has a significant difference. The diameter of the inhibitory zone produced by Pseudomonas aeruginosa pus bacteria is more sensitive than Pseudomonas aeruginosa laboratorium cultures.
