Abstract

Gastroenteritis is an inflammation caused by bacterial, viral, and pathogen parasite infection in gaster, instestine, and colon area. Drugs which used for acute gastroenteritis in RSAU dr. Efram Harsana Lanud Iswahjuni Magetan are Cefotaxime, Ceftriaxone, Ciprofloxacin, Cefixime, Metronidazole. The aim of this study are to understand the usage overview and antibiotic suitability usage on acute gastroenteritis patients in inpatient care facility of RSAU dr. Efram Harsana Lanud Iswahjudi Magetan Period of 2018. Non experimental study with purposive sampling method used, secondary data period of 2018 about acute gastroenteritis treatment. Data was collected and analyzed to know the antibiotic usage pattern on acute gastroenteritis patients in inpatient care facility of RSAU dr. Efram Harsana Lanud Iswahjuni Magetan period of 2018. Result analysis were done with comparing each medications in the hospital based on dosage auitability, drug suitability, drug administration suitability, and interval time suitability with FRS and World Gastroenterology Organization global guideline (WGO) 2012 as literature. The result showed that antibiotics which used are Cefotaxime (54.71%), Ceftriaxone (18.86%), Ciprofloxacin (16.98%), Metronidazole (5.66%), and Cefixime (3.77%). Suitability of antibiotic usage were known drug suitability (100%), dosage suitability (56,60%), drug administration suitability (100%) and interval time suitability (100%).
