Abstract

Bronchopneumonia was a pneumonia. Bronchopneumonia’s adult patients in most cases endure complications so that multiple treatments notably given simultaneously lead to increased risk of drug interactions. Drug interactions can be beneficial but can also become life threatening because it cause death. This study was to asertain representation use of antibiotics, occurrence of antibiotic drug interactions, mechanism interaction and the severity that occurs included in this study. This study was descriptive, retrospective data collected. Sample inclusion criteria were bronchopneumonia patients with age ranging from 17 to 65 years old, hospitalized more than 3 days at Panti Wilasa Dr. Cipto Hospital Semarang in 2018. The results evidenced that mostly used antibiotic in treatment of bronchopneumonia at Panti Wilasa Dr. Cipto Hospital Semarang in 2018 was single antibiotic, ceftriaxone given 48 times with a percentage of 55.8%. Drug interaction events occured 47 times at the most mechanism interaction was pharmacodynamic phase with 66,7% and mostly severity of interaction was moderate level by 80% from 39 cases of interactions.
