Abstract
Drug interaction is the occurrence of drug interactions that can occur due to the use of two or more drugs that can affect the response to treatment. The result of an increase or decrease in effects that can affect patient outcomes. This study discusses the interaction of antihypertensive drugs and the severity of drug interactions in the inpatientinstallation of RSUD Karanganyar on 2018. This research is descriptive with retrospective data collection. The sample of this study was hypertensive patients who underwent treatment at the Inpatient Installation of RSUD Karanganyar on 2018 with inclusion criteria of patients 4575 years old, received> 3 types of drugs, hypertensive patients with or without comorbidities and had well-equipped medical record exclusion exclusions namely patients whose medical records are lost / damaged. The results of this research there were 101 patients (88.59%) The incidence of drug interactions and 13 patients (11.40%) That do not experience the occurrence of drug interactions. Incidence of drug interactions based on severity in minor is 101 occurrences (36.20%), moderate 164 occurrences (57.54%) And a major of 14 occurrences (5.01%). There were 107 patients with 206 cases of pharmacodynamic drug interaction mechanisms (73.83%) and there were 7 patients with 73 cases of pharmacokinetic drug interaction mechanisms (26.16%).
