Abstract

The use of topical olive oil can protect the skin damage caused by exposure to UVB rays because olive oil contains vitamin E. Emulgel has the advantages of having a good dispersive power, easily applied and provide comfort to the skin. This study aims to determine the concentrations of Na CMC differences can affect the physical quality. Research carried out by making 3 formulations with varying concentrations of Na CMC 1%, 1.5%, 2%. Physical quality include organoleptic testing, homogeneity, viscosity, dispersive power, adhesiveness, pH, type of emulsion and stability testing. Results Data were analyzed using SPSS statistical test method One Way ANOVA and Post Hoc test with a confidence level of 95%. The results showed that variations in the concentration of Na CMC can affect the physical quality and stability. The high concentration of Na CMC causes high viscosity and long sticky power but a small spreading power area. Based on the results of tests performed formulations 1 with a concentration of 1% Na CMC has good physical quality. On the Statistic test produces a value greater than 0,05.
