Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis, which can attack various organs, especially the lungs. Antibiotics are a class of natural and synthetic compounds that have the effect of suppressing or stopping biochemical processes in an organism, especially in the process of infection by bacteria. The use of antibiotics in improper TB disease can cause total resistance to the previous drug. This study aims to determine the pattern of antibiotic use in tuberculosis pediatric patients in the Inpatient Installation Balai Besar Kesehatan Paru Masyarakat Surakarta in 2018. This research uses descriptive method and the sampling method is done by purposive sampling. Data was taken from 30 patients consisting of 11 male patients and 19 female patients in the Inpatient Installation Balai Besar Kesehatan Paru Masyarakat Surakarta in 2018. Data was taken from medical records and hospital formulary data. The results showed the use of antibiotics in pediatric patients with pulmonary TB used by rifampicin and isoniazid. With the use of rifampicin as much as 50% and isoniazid 50%. The use of antibiotics in pediatric patients with pulmonary tuberculosis in an Inpatient Installation Balai Besar Kesehatan Paru Masyarakat Surakarta in 2018 conformity with the hospital formulary 100%.
