Abstract

Toxoplasmosis is an infectious disease caused by the parasite Toxoplasma gondii. Cases of Toxoplasmosis in humans are still a health problem that needs serious attention in Indonesia. Chicken meat sellers are a profession having a high risk of getting toxoplasmosis. The purpose of this research was to investigate the relationship between risk behavior of Toxoplasmosis and the status of IgG anti Toxoplasma gondii in chicken sellers at Banjarsari, Surakarta. This research uses observational cross-sectional study. The data used is the questionnaire data and test data statistics. Data on 25 respondents Toxoplasmosis risk behavior conducted using questionnaires, while the examination of status IgG anti Toxoplasma gondii was performed using ELISA method. The data obtained were processed using a statistical test Chi-square or Fisher's Exact test alternatives to the significance level (α = 0,05). The results showed percentage of Toxoplasmosis in chicken meat seller is 40%. The results showed that the individual behavior in contact with cat was p=0,445 (p>α), the habit of washing hands after contact chicken p=0,397 (p>α), the habit of consumption of undercooked meat p=0,015 (p<α), handwashing before eating p=0,626 (p>α), and raw vegetable consumption habits p=0,028 (p<α). The conclusion this research relationship between risk behavior of Toxoplasmosis and the status of IgG anti Toxoplasma gondii in chicken meat sellers at banjarsari, surakarta especially on eating half-cooked meat and raw vegetables otherwise there is no relationship between IgG anti Toxoplasma gondii status and contact with cat, hand-washing habit after contact with chicken meat and hand washing before eating.
