Abstract
Dermatophyte is a group of fungi that have the ability to infect the tissues containing keratin such as skin, hair, and nails. Diseases caused by dermatophyte called dermatophytosis. Dogs who have experienced dermatophytosis can pass on its owner. Transmission may occur through contact, cuts, and cleanliness. This research aims to know the transmission dermatophytosis of the dog to its owner and knowing the types of dermatophyte which infects dogs and their owners. The methods used in this study is direct examination with the addition of 10% KOH, and indirect examination. Research done in the laboratory of Mycology, Setia Budi University of Surakarta. A detailed questionnaire was used also for the supporting research results. The research results obtained Microsporum gypseum in 1 of 5 owners who checked. The owners often make contact with dogs who suffer from dermatophytosis and keep it clean. Research done on dogs that are suspected to suffer from dermatophytosis obtained results dermatophyte kind Microsporum gypseum, Epidermophyton floccossum, and Microsporum canis on 3 of 15 dogs were examined.
