Abstract
Farmers are the largest working group in Indonesia. Most of the population in the village of Koripan, Matesih, Karanganyar work in agriculture. The use of pesticides that do not meet the rules will result in an impact including anemia which occurs because the chemicals contained in pesticides can cause abnormalities in the blood profile and can interfere with the formation of blood cells in the body. Farmers in the area are not aware of the importance of self-ptotection such as boat shoes, gloves, and masks, so that the body can be directly exposed to the chemicals used in these farmers. This study aims to determine hemoglobin levels in farmers in the village of Koripan, Matesih, Karanganyar.This scientific paper as compiled based on the result of examination of capillary blood samples in 50 farmers in the village of koripan Matesih Karanganyar. The sampling technique used is quota sampling. This research is a type of descriptive research. The result showed that out of 50 farmers blood samples taken less than normal hemoglobin levels were 13 respondens (26%), while the normal hemoglobin level was 37 responden (74%). Farmers are expected to use personal protection such as masks, gloves and boots, so that the body is not directly exposed to chemicals on pesticids and is not infected with hookworms.
