Abstract

Well water is one of the water sources of earth that we are easy to see and widely used by the public. The quality of well water should also be observed in order to avoid contamination of heavy metal. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the wells in Bibis Luhur areas contained heavy metals or not. In this study used two samples are samples A and B with three times replication. The first step taken is to perform sample preparation by means evaporated on a hot plate by using HNO3, then added aquabidestilata to 25.0 ml and analysis with atomic absorption spectrophotometry. The results obtained from this study show that not all samples contained heavy metal of lead (Pb) and copper (Cu) contamination. Average levels of metallic lead (Pb) on sample A = 0.2063 ppm. Levels obtained exceeds the maximum allowed according to Permenkes No. 413/Menkes/Per/IX/1990 is 0.005 mg/L. Keywords: Water wells, heavy metals, Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS)
