Abstract
The air quality in the microbiology laboratory must be considered because it can cause contamination. One of the air pollutants in the microbiology laboratory is caused by fungi. Some of the factors that affect the growth of mold in the laboratory are temperature and humidity. The research objective was to determine the type of airborne contaminant fungi in the Laboratory of Microbiology, Setia Budi University, Surakarta and to find out whether the microbiology laboratory meets the requirements or does not comply with PERMENKES RI No.1077 of 2011. This research method uses the pour plate method, with samples of air fungi in the Microbiology Laboratory. After being incubated, the samples were observed macroscopically and microscopically to look for genus of air fungi in the microbiology laboratory. The results showed the growth of air fungus colonies from the genus Aspergillus, Cladosporium, Fusarium and Penicillium. Based on the calculation of CFU/m3, the number of microbial colonies in the Microbiology Laboratory of the University of Setia Budi Surakarta was 917 colonies or 6,368 CFU/m3. The conclusion of this research is that the Microbiology Laboratory of Setia Budi University Surakarta does not meet the requirements based on the Minister of Health Regulation NO 1077/MENKES/PER/V/2011 concerning the requirements for biological contaminants in the house.
