Abstract
DASIXTA, AK., 2019, DRUG INTERACTIONS EVALUATION OF DIABETIC INPATIENT WITH HYPERTENSION AT DR. ISKAK REGIONAL PUBLIC HOSPITAL TULUNGAGUNG IN 2018, ESSAY, FACULTY OF PHARMACY, SETIA BUDI UNIVERSITY, SURAKARTA. Drug interactions are one of the problems may emerge in a therapy. Diabetic patients comorbid with hypertension were often found with other complications, patients may receive combined therapy with 2 kinds of medicine or more at the same time, that condition may causes drug interactions. Purpose of this study was to determine interaction types and mechanisms of drug interactions that occur in diabetic inpatient comorbid with hypertension at dr. Iskak Regional Public Hospital Tulungagung in 2018. This study was non-experimental retrospective survey was conducted through medical records of diabetic inpatients comorbid with hypertension and other comorbidities from January 2018 to December 2018 at dr. Iskak Regional Public Hospital Tulungagung. Drug interactions were examined from the medical record data and analyzed using the percentage of points included in drug interactions. Results of this study indicated that from 47 patients, 37 patients encounter drug interactions with 118 cases of drug interactions. Interaction category at the most was moderate interaction category with 87 events (73.23%), whlist interaction mechanism at the most was pharmacodynamic interaction with 83 events (70.33%).
