Abstract
Motorcycle washer that are often exposed by water can be infected by fungi. One of the diseases caused by fungi is superficial mycosis. Superficial mycosis can be caused by dermatophyte and non dermatophyte fungi. The purpose of this study is to determine the prevalence of superficial mycosis and the presence or absence of the effect of using boots on motorcycle washers in Mojosongo Village, Surakarta descriptively. This research used observational method with cross sectional approach.The using of boots reviews were obtained from questionnaires. The examination method used the indirect examination with the culture of skin scrap samples between the toes of motorcycle washers in Mojosongo Village, Surakarta. The result of this research is the prevalence of superficial mycosis in motor washers in Mojosongo Village, Surakarta is 3,6% and there is no effect of the use of boots descriptively.Type of fungi which found are one dermatophyte fungus, Tricophyton sp and three non dermatophyte fungi which areAspergillus sp, Fusarium sp, and Penicillium sp. __________________________________________________________________ Keyword : Motorcycle washer, Boots, Dermatophyte fungi
