Abstract
The performance of laboratory technicians is a performance that somebody makes or a group of people make in laboratory, based on their power and responsibility. Hence, occupational health and safetyare required in order to improve laboratory technician’s performance. This study aims at analyzing and investigating the influence of occupational safety and health by the use of self-protection equipment on laboratory technician’s performance. Total sampling method was applied in this research. The samples used were all laboratory technicians (20 respondents) at Prof. Dr. R. Soeharso Hospital of Surakarta. Data were analyzed using multiple regression analysis, t-test and F test. The results of data analysis demonstrate the influence of occupational safety on self-protection equipment with the significance level of 0.000<0.05, the influence of occupational health on self-protection equipment with the significance level of 0.000<0.05, the influence of occupational safety on performance with the significance level of 0.000<0.05, the influence of occupational health on performance with the significance level of 0.000<0.05, and simultaneously, the insignificant influences of occupational safety, occupational health and self-protection equipment on performance because the number of respondents and research objects contributes to the research results.
