Abstract
Heart disease is the biggest cause of death in the world, including in Indonesia. Heart disease is one of the causes of several complications that cause patients to experience drug interactions so that patients consume more than one type of drug. This study aims to determine the type of drug that is most widely used and cause interaction and to know the description of the interaction of drug use in heart failure patients with complications that are hospitalized at the Regional General Hospital Ir. Soekarno Sukoharjo District Period 2017. This research is descriptive with retrospective data collection. The research method in determining the sample by purposive sampling is the technique of determining the sample with certain considerations or according to inclusion. The population of this study were all patients suffering from heart failure with complications listed in the medical record at the Inpatient Installation of RSUD Ir. Soekarno Sukoharjo Regency Period 2017. The sample of this study were patients who suffered from heart failure with complications listed in the medical record data treated at the Inpatient Installation of RSUD Ir. Soekarno Sukoharjo District which met the inclusion criteria. The results showed that drug interactions were found in 40 cases (76.92%). The most frequent occurrence was the interaction between amlodipine and simvastatin ie 7 events (17.5%), the most interaction category was the moderate interaction category of 29 interactions (72.5%), the most interactional mechanism was the pharmacodynamic interaction of 19 events (47.5%).
