Abstract
Bakteri merupakan organisme uniseluler yang relatif sederhana dan berada disekitar kita. Tanaman alang-alang (Imperata cylindrica) merupakan salah satu tanaman berkhasiat obat. Tanaman ini memiliki khasiat farmakologi sebagai antidiuretik, antiinflamasi, neuroprotektif, dan antibakteri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri Imperata cylindrica terhadap berbagai kultur bakteri. Penelitian ini diawali dengan ekstraksi akar alang-alang. Metode ekstraksi yang digunakan yaitu maserasi dengan etanol 70%. Kajian aktivitas antibakteri dilakukan dengan menggunakan literature review untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri Imperata cylindrica terhadap berbagai kultur bakteri. Hasil kajian aktivitas antibakteri menunjukkan bahwa tanaman alang-alang (Imperata cylindrica L.) mempunyai aktivitas antibakteri terhadap berbagai kultur bakteri, yaitu Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Bacillus subtillis, Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Klebsiella pneumoniae, dan Salmonella typhimurium dengan parameter nilai zona hambat yang dinyatakan dengan satuan milimeter. Ekstrak Imperata cylindrica mengandung golongan senyawa flavonoid. alkaloid, dan tanin. Kata kunci: antibakteri, Imperata cylindrica, uji antibakteri. Bacteria are unicellular organisms that are relatively simple and are located around us. Imperata grass (Imperata cylindrica L.) is a medicinal plant. This plant has pharmacological properties as antidiuretic, anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, and antibacterial. This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity of Imperata cylindrica against various bacterial cultures. The study began with extraction of alang-alang roots. Extraction method used is maceration with 70% ethanol. The study of antibacterial activity was carried out using literature review to determine the antibacterial activity of Imperata cylindrica against various bacterial cultures. The results of the study of antibacterial activity showed that Imperata grass (Imperata cylindrica L.) had antibacterial activity against various bacterial cultures, namely Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Bacillus subtillis, Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Salmonella typhimurium with the zones of the parameter zones stated with zones of the unit parameter zones stated by the zones of the unit with the zones of the parameter zones. millimeter.
