Abstract

Coronary artery disease (CHD) is an ailment with a high death rate in Indonesia and will rise on geriatric patients. CHD that occurred on geriatric patients often followed with complications or comorbidities which makes them tend to prescribed with many drugs that could potentially causing drug interaction. The purpose of this research is to find out the drug interaction that occur in geriatric patients with coronary artery disease at inpatient care facility in RSUD UNDATA Provinsi Sulawesi Tengah at 2019. This research is a non-experimental descriptive research (observation) with retrospectively cross-sectional design by using geriatrics patient with CHD at inpatient care facility in RSUD UNDATA Provinsi Sulawesi Tengah at 2019 medical record. Identification of the interactions is done using Lexicomp Reference-Drug interaction checker application, checker, Medscape, drug.com, and searches with multiple references. The data will be presented in tables and percentages. The research result shows 121 patients which consist of 63 male patients (52.1%), and 58 female patients (47.9%). There is a drug interaction in 97 patients (80.2%) and 24 patients (19.8%) without it. Drug interaction based on the severity consist of 23 major case (7.8%), 243 moderate case (82.7%), and 28 minor case (9.5%). The interaction mechanism that occur the most is pharmacodynamics totaling 280 case (92.5%). Keywords : drug interaction, Coronary artery disease
