Abstract

Breast cancer is a cancer that attacks the epithelial tissue of the breast, the mucous membrane and glands so that breast cancer is classified as carcinoma. The causes of breast cancer are very diverse, including damage to DNA that causes genetic mutations. Soursoup plant contains acetogenin compound which have the potential as an anticancer agent. The research method used is qualitative research method with type of descriptive research. The data source is obtained from secondary data from leading publisher like Goggle Scholar, Science Direct, Pubmed, and Researchgate which published between 2010-2020. The data collection technique using triangulation, i.e., a data collection technique which combines multiple data collection and existing data sources. The study of cytotoxic activity was carried out using a literature review to determine the cytotoxic activity of soursoup plant (Annona muricata L.) against the study of MCF-7 breast cancer cell culture and determine its effect on the Bcl-2 expression of breast cancer cell culture protein. The results of the cytotoxic activity showed that the soursoup plant (Annona muricata L.) had activity against MCF-7 breast cancer cell culture with the parameter IC50 value. The results of the study on the effect of protein expression on breast cancer cells showed that the soursoup plant could reduce the expression of the Bcl-2 protein so that it triggered apoptosis in breast cancer cells. The differences in yields the cytotoxic activity of soursop plant (Annona muricata L.) can be influenced by the solvents used for extraction, extraction method, and the sensitivity of each cancer cell culture.
