Abstract
A drug interaction is a change in the way a drug works, potentially increasing or decreasing the effect of a new drug. Interactions in medication cause medication failure, make the disorder affect the body temporarily or permanently and lead to death. The purpose of this study was to identify the interaction of antihypertensive drugs in chronic renal failure This research is an observational, descriptive research with retrospective sampling. The sample used was data on patients with chronic kidney failure who received treatment for hypertension, recorded as many as 88 patients with inclusion criteria of patients with chronic kidney failure accompanied by hypertension, chronic kidney failure patients receiving antihypertensive therapy, chronic kidney failure patients receiving antihypertensive therapy aged 30-64 years and have complete data. This research was conducted at the Surakarta City Hospital in 2019-2020. The results of this study showed that the patient characteristics of the 88 samples were dominated by men, aged 46-55 years. The single antihypertensives that were widely used were furosemide (29%) and the combination drug candesartan and amlodipine (11,7%). Identification of antihypertensive drug interactions experienced drug interactions, namely minor, moderate, and major. Mechanisms of pharmacodynamic, pharmacokinetic, and unknown interactions. Drug interactions that often occur in antihypertensive drugs are bisoprolol with amlodipine and candesartan with bisoprolol (30,2%) while antihypertensive drugs with other drugs are amlodipine with CaCO3 (16,9%). Key words: Chronic renal failure, Antihypertensive drugs, Interaction
