Abstract
Antioxidants have been developed and modified in order to provide convenience in their use, both for natural and synthetic antioxidants. One of the ingredients that have antioxidant activity is myricetin. Serum is a preparation with a high active substance and low viscosity, which delivers a thin film of the active ingredient on the skin surface (Draelos, 2010). Serum preparations consist of formulas I, II, and III, each formula is distinguished based on the use of stabilizers. Formula I stabilizer carbomer, formula II stabilizer viscolam, and formula III stabilizer xanthan gum. Each formula also contains other components, namely glycerin, optiphen, aquadest, and myricetin powder. Evaluation of serum preparations includes organoleptic test, homogeneity test, viscosity test, pH test, transferred volume test, antioxidant activity test, and analysis using SPSS. The results of the evaluation of serum preparations showed that formulas II and III had good smearing power and homogeneity, while formula I had poor smearing power and homogeneity, the pH of the three formulas ranged from 4.34-9.48. After passing through storage for 21 days at room temperature, only formula III changed color. While in formula I, the antioxidant activity decreased to a weak category with an IC50 value of 166.9694. Based on the response of the authors, it can be concluded that the three formulas with different stabilizers produced myricetin serum with different homogeneity and antioxidant activity Keyword: Myricetin, Serum Myricetin, Stabilizer
