Abstract

Olive oil contains a high unsaturated fatty oil that is able to maintain the moisture of the lips and can be used as an emollient in preparation so as to facilitate it in its application. The use of red dragon fruit as dye because it has a red colored pigment that is anthocyanin which can be utilized to be natural dyes so it can be used in the manufacture of lip gloss preparations. The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of variations in the concentration of alcohol to the physical quality of olive oil and other topical preparations as well as to see the stability of lip gloss olive oil and other topical preparations in storage. The research method on other topical preparations is done by looking at the results of a descriptive study with the journal criteria used in the journal with a publication range of 8 years (2012-2020) with the theme of the journal content of the preparation of lipstick and cream with variations of the concentration of alcohol cetyl while the preparation of lip gloss is done with the fresh red dragon fruit and then blender, then done filtering and warming to get the red dragon fruit juices are thick. Preparations of lip gloss are formulated with 3 different concentrations of cetyl alcohol, Formula 1 uses the Alcohol cetyl 2%, formula 2 = 4% and Formula 3 = 6%. In the evaluation of lip gloss preparations conducted organoleptis test, homogenity test, pH test, adhesion test, spread power test, viscosity test and stability test. The results showed the three young purple preparations of F1 consistency were more fluid than F2 and F3 and had a distinctive smell, the pH that owned the whole dosage was the same as pH 6, the color stability of the preparations changed from light purple to pale pink but the consistency and dosage odor remained stable at room temperature storage. The difference between the concentration of the cetyl of alcohol affects the viscosity increase and adhesiveness and affects the reduction in coverage. Lip Gloss olive oil is unstable at room temperature storage because it experiences discoloration while other topical preparations are based on stable descriptive studies at room temperature storage.
