Abstract
Staphylococcus aureus is a bacterium that can cause infections of the skin while Eschericia coli bacteria that can cause diarrhea. Dayak onion and the stem is a typical Kalimantan plant used as an alternative treatment that has been known to have antibacterial activity. This research aims to find out the antibacterial activity of the Dayak onion and the stem of the well-being to the bacteria S. aureus and E. coli. Staphylococcus aureus is carried out identification on the VJA media, Gram staining and biochemical test. Dayak onion bulbs and tampala stick extracted with Infusa method with Aquadest, then carried out phytochemical screening and antibacterial activity of infusa tuber and Dayak onion and the stem of S. aureus and E. coli are based on the study of the library. Characteristics of Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923 is a Gram-positive bacteria indicating purple-colored rounded cells with a serftic arrangement such as grapes and S. aureus on the VJA medium are capable of fermenting mannitol and positive cataloges and coagulase. The results of screening test phytochemical infusa tuber onion and stem bajakah containing alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins and tannins are suspected to have antibacterial activity against S. aureus and E. coli and the results of the literature study shows that Dayak onion bulbs and soil stem have the efficacy of antibacterial against S. aureus and E. coli.
