Abstract
Asthma is a chronic airway inflammatory disorder involving many cells and their elements. Inflammation that occurs in asthma is a typical inflammation that is accompanied by infiltration of eosinophils, this is what distinguishes asthma from other airway inflammatory disorder. The impo rtance of the role of inflammatory cells, especially eosinophils cells trigger asthma simptoms. Eosinophils count with perioheral blood smear using giemsa and view blood samples perfomed at Hematology Laboratory Setia Budi University Surakarta from the asthma patients who treated at BBKPM Surakarta under the microscope with 100x magnification, eosinophyils is counted in 1oo leukocytes. The result of the study og eosinophils count in asthma patients from 30 samples obtained 21 samples (70%) of patients experiencing eosinophils increase, while samples (30%) normal patients.
