Abstract

Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Tuberculosis patients who have other diseases are treated with additional drugs, because the large number of drugs consumed can lead to potential drug interactions. This study aims to determine the potential interactions of drugs based on the mechanism of interaction and severity in pulmonary TB patients at the Outpatient Health Center in Surakarta in 2020. This type of research is descriptive non-experimental with retrospective data. The sample in this study were pulmonary TB patients listed in medical records at the Surakarta Outpatient Health Center in 2020 which were adjusted to the inclusion criteria. The analysis of the results was evaluated using Microsoft Excel and the SPSS Statistics 26 application which was expressed as a percentage. This research was conducted on 120 samples of medical record data that met the inclusion criteria. The results showed that the occurrence of drug interactions with a total incidence of 63 events (53%). Drugs that interact with OAT include antacids, amlodipine, dexamethasone, glimepiride, loratadine, diclofenac sodium, omeprazole, paracetamol, simvastatin, vitamin B6. The most common interaction mechanism was pharmacokinetic interaction with 224 events (99%), the most severe level of interaction was moderate 141 events (63%).
