Abstract
Diabetes is defined as a chronic disease that occurs when the pankreas does not produce enough insulin or when the body cannot process insulin properly. Cambodia contains flavonoid compounds which are known to have anti-diabetic effects. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of frangipani bark extract as anti-diabetic in Mus Musculus mice and to determine the effective dose. This study used the alloxan test method. The extraction method used is maceration with 70% ethanol. The test animals were 30 mice divided into 6 groups, namely normal kontrol, positive kontrol of glibenclamide 0.65 mg/kgBW, CMC negative kontrol 1%, frangipani bark extract with 3 variations in dose (dose I 98.7 mg/kgBW, dose II 197.4 mg/kgBB, III dose 394.8 mg/kgBW). Test animals were measured initial glucose levels and body weight (T0) and then made hyperglycemia with alloxan at a dose of 70 mg/kg BW except in normal kontrols that were not induced by alloxan. After 3 days glucose and weight were measured (T1), then suspension was given according to each group, blood glucose levels were measured in mice and body weight on 7th and 14th days (T3). Data were analyzed using SPSS. The results of this study showed that frangipani bark extract has anti-diabetic activity against male mice(mus musculus) from the alloxan induction test results. The effective dose of frangipani bark extract was 98.7 mg/BB. Keywords: frangipani bark, diabetes, mice, alloxan
