Abstract

Blackberry fruit contains phenolic compounds with flavanoid and tannin which have antioxidant activity. Blackberry fruit was developed into a lotion preparation to increase skin moisture and can prevent the skin from being exposed to free radicals. The purpose of this study was to formulate blackberry fruit into lotion preparations with good physical quality stability and antioxidant activity results and to obtain a formula that could provide the best antioxidant activity. Blackberry fruit extraction was carried out by maceration method using 96% ethanol as solvent. The macerate was evaporated until a thick extract was obtained. Testing the quality of the blackberry fruit extract lotion includes, organoleptic test, homogeneity test, pH test, dispersibility test, viscosity test, emulsion type, stability test and antioxidant activity test using the 1,1 diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazil (DPPH) method to determine the value IC50 lotion. The research data were analyzed by statistical software application SPSS 25.0 for windows with the One Way ANOVA method. The results showed that the ethanolic extract of blackberry fruit can be formulated into lotion preparations with good physical quality stability results and has the potential for antioxidant activity in the moderate to strong category and the best formula with the best physical quality and antioxidant activity results is in formula 4 with an extract concentration of 4 % and IC50 gain is 71,75 ppm. Key word: Blackberry Fruit, Antioxidant, Lotion, DPPH
