Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus is a disease that occurs when insulin production is not good, interferes with the glucose balance in the body. According to the IDF 2013, 90-95% diabetes mellitus is type 2 diabetes from the existing type of diabetes. Rationality is very influential on the role of a pharmacist in the use of drugs. The purpose of this study was to determine the rationality treatment of type 2 DM patients in the outpatient Installation of Kabupaten Karanganyar District Hospital in 2021 based on indicators of correct diagnosis, right method of administration, right drug, right drug dose, right patient, and right drug indication. This study using a retrospective method from looking at the medical record date of type 2 DM patients at outpatient installation of the Karanganyar district hospital in 2021 and sampling technical with purposive sampling. Analysis of the result carried out by considering the use of drugs in the PERKENI guidelines. The results showed that the most widely used oral antidiabetic drug by DMT 2 patients at the outpatient Installation of Karanganyar Hospital in 2021 was metformin 500 mg. In the use of antidiabetic drugs, the result obtained are 100 % accurate in diagnosis, method of administration correct 100%, correct drug 100 %, correct drug dose 97,50%, correct for patient 100%, and correct drug indication 100%.
