Abstract
Flavonoid compounds, saponins, and tannins are compounds found in the Arabian henna leaf plant (Lawsonia inermis L) which are expected to help provide a wound healing effect. The purpose of this study is to find out and prove that Arabic henna leaf extract ointment can effectively heal cuts and to determine the best dose for wound healing. Extraction in this study used the maceration method. The extract obtained was in the form of an ointment with various concentrations of 7.5%, 11.25%, 15% based on observations. The ointment preparation was tested for the physical quality of the ointment and then analyzed by SPSS statistical test with one way ANOVA test followed by paired test. The wound healing effectiveness test was carried out on rabbit back cuts as experimental animal number 5 rabbits. Each 5 parts were treated with ointment preparations on the basis of the use of concentrations of 7.5%, 11.25% and 15%, with positive control namely betadine ointment, and the negative control is an attack based ointment. The wound healing process was observed for up to 14 days. The results showed that the ethanol extract gel had good physical quality and had wound healing activity. Lawsonia inermis leaf extract ointment at all concentrations showed wound healing activity, and a concentration of 15% gave the most optimal wound healing activity.
