Abstract
CV. Restu Ibu Garment is a company engaged in the garment industry. The products produced by CV. Ibu Garment are shirts, PPE clothing (Personal Protective Equipment) and masks. The problem company faced as that during the production of shirts, there were workstations that had to wait, resulting in the accumulation of semifinished products. Based on observations, the buldip of semi-finished goods is caused by an imbalance of working time at each workstation. These problems will result in a sub-optimal efficiency of the shirt production output. In this study, the Ranked Positional Weight (RPW) method is used to improve the balance of sewing trajectories of shirt products. The result of the improvement design using the Ranked Positional Weight (RPW) methode will be simulated using the ProModel application. In the existing condition, the line efficiency value is 19%, the balance delay is 81%, and the smoothness index is 68,15. After improving the balance, line efficiency value increased by 77%. The maximized line efficiency due to workstation time loading can reduce labor wastage and improve productivity. The decrease in the value of balance delay by 23% makes workstation less idle, and there are fewer bottleneck in production. The result of the smoothness index value is 18, because the value is getting closer to 0, meaning that the production is getting better.
