Abstract

Adverse Drug Reactions are effects that can cause unwanted harm from a drug, the purpose of this study is to determine the various types of drugs that can cause side effects in diabetic patients and to know the clinical manifestations due to drug side effects. This study is a Literature Review study using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, by looking for the prevalence of side effects of anti-diabetic drugs and manifestations from national and international journals that match the inclusion criteria with a time span of 2012-2022. The results of the study from the literature review obtained 20 journals that matched the inclusion and exclusion criteria, the treatment data used were metformin, glimepiride, glibenclamide, acarbose, insulin, glicazid, plognitazone, novorapid, latus, glyburid, dapaglifozin, volibose, tenegliptin and canaglifozin. Then the clinical manifestations that occur from the side effects of the drug are dizziness, nausea, vomiting, weakness, dyspepsia, increased body weight, flatulence, hypoglycemia, hyperglycemia, tingling, anemia, decreased appetite.
