Abstract
RESTY PUTRI PAKANAN, 2023. ANALYSIS OF HYDROQUINONE CONTENTS IN CREAM AT DIFFERENT STORAGE CONDITIONS BY UV-VIS SPECTROPHOTOMETRY, THESIS PROPOSAL, FACULTY OF PHARMACY, SETIA BUDI UNIVERSITY, SURAKARTA, Supervised by Dr. Nuraini Harmastuti, S.Si., M.Si and Apt. Taufik Turahman, M. Farm. Hydroquinone is an active substance that can help brighten facial skin. The use of hydroquinone in creams is very limited, namely to a maximum level of 2%. Appropriate storage conditions are necessary to maintain hydroquinone levels. This study aims to determine hydroquinone levels according to the label on the cream and determine the effect of storage conditions on hydroquinone levels. The study used cream medication with different storage conditions (room temperature, cold temperature, and sunlight) for 28 days. Qualitative testing was carried out using FeCl3 reagent and Benedict's reagent. Determination of hydroquinone levels in cream drug samples using UV-Vis spectrophotometry at a wavelength of 294 nm. The research results were analyzed using the Two Way ANNOVA method, then continued with Post Hoc Tukey. Based on the results, the hydroquinone level does not comply with the label. Post-hoc statistical results, the room temperature and cold samples were not significantly different (the same), but there was a significant difference between room temperature and hot temperature, and cold temperature and hot temperature and in the storage time there was a significant difference between day 0 and day 7, 14, and 28. RESTY PUTRI PAKANAN, 2023. ANALISIS KADAR HIDROKUINON DALAM KRIM PADA KONDISI PENYIMPANAN YANG BERBEDA SECARA SPEKTROFOTOMETRI UV-Vis, PROPOSAL SKRIPSI, FAKULTAS FARMASI, UNIVERSITAS SETIA BUDI, SURAKARTA, Dibimbing oleh Dr. Nuraini Harmastuti, S.Si., M.Si dan Apt. Taufik Turahman, M.Farm.
