Abstract
Demam merupakan kondisi di mana suhu tubuh meningkat di atas suhu tubuh normal (>37,5°C). Ekstrak n-heksan rimpang jahe merah (Zingiber officinale var rubrum rhizoma) dapat digunakan sebagai pilihan alternatif pengganti obat-obataan, karena terkandung senyawa alkaloid dan triterpenoid yang dapat menurunkan demam. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui aktivitas antipiretik ekstrak n-heksan jahe merah, dosis efektif yang memiliki aktivitas antipiretik, dan golongan senyawa yang terkandung di dalam ekstrak n-heksan rimpang jahe merah. Metode ekstraksi yang digunakan yaitu metode soxhletasi dengan menggunakan pelarut n-heksan dan serbuk rimpang jahe merah. Hewan uji yang digunakan sebanyak 25 ekor dibagi dalam 5 kelompok uji yang berbeda. Tiap hewan uji diinduksi dengan pepton 10%, setelah 1 jam masing- masing kelompok diberikan parasetamol 65 mg/KgBB, CMC Na 0,5%, dosis ekstrak 98 mg/KgBB, 196 mg/KgBB, dan 294 mg/KgBB. Ekstrak n-heksan rimpang jahe merah dilakukan skrining fitokimia dan uji KLT. Pengukuran suhu tubuh dilakukan pada T0, Tdemam, T30, T60, dan T120 kemudian dilakukan perhitungan AUC dan %DAP. Analisis data menggunakan Shaphiro-Wilk dan ANOVA. Penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya aktivitas antipiretik ekstrak n-heksan rimpang jahe merah, dosis efektif sebesar 98 mg/KgBB dan dalam ekstrak n-heksan rimpang jahe merah terkandung senyawa alkaloid, triterpenoid dan oleoresin. Fever is a condition where the body temperature rises above normal body temperature (>37.5°C). N-hexane extract of red ginger rhizomes (Zingiber officinale var rubrum rhizoma) can be used as an alternative alternative to medicines, because it contains alkaloid and triterpenoid compounds which can reduce fever. The aim of this research was to determine the antipyretic activity of red ginger n- hexane extract, the effective dose that has antipyretic activity, and the class of compounds contained in the n-hexane extract of red ginger rhizomes. The extraction method used is the soxhletation method using n- hexane solvent and red ginger rhizome powder. 25 test animals were used, divided into 5 different test groups. Each test animal was induced with 10% peptone, after 1 hour each group was given paracetamol 65 mg/KgBW, CMC Na 0.5%, extract doses of 98 mg/KgBW, 196 mg/KgBW, and 294 mg/KgBW. The n-hexane extract of red ginger rhizomes was subjected to phytochemical screening and TLC testing. Body temperature measurements were carried out at T0, Tfever, T30, T60, and T120 then AUC and %DAP were calculated. Data analysis used Shapiro-Wilk and ANOVA. This research shows the antipyretic activity of n-hexane extract from red ginger rhizomes, the effective dose was 98 mg/KgBW and the n-hexane extract from red ginger rhizomes contains alkaloids, triterpenoids and oleoresins.
