Abstract

Baldness is caused by excessive hair loss more prevalent in today's society. To solve it is to do research using watermelon white skin made into preparations hair tonic and then tested in animal test rabbits New Zealand. From this research to look at the ability of the preparation of white hair tonic extracts of watermelon in growing rabbit hair. White watermelon extracted with ethanol 70% and then difolmulasikan into preparations hair tonic. Preparations hair tonic is applied to the back elinci measuring 3x3cm for 21 days. Testing the ability of preparation white hair tonic extracts of watermelon in growing rabbit hair done by measuring the length of the hair on day 7, 14 and 21, and rabbit hair weight measurements on day 21 to determine the thickness of the hair after using hair tonic formula. The results showed that the hair tonic concentration of 4%, 6% have the effect of hair growth. Based on the results seen their influence in white watermelon extract on rabbits and most effective concentration in growing rabbit hair is a concentration of 8%.
