Abstract
Setyoningtias Dwi. NIM 12190813N. 2023. Effects of Administration of Alcoholic Beverages in Mice (Mus Musculus) on Histopathological Features of the Liver. Health Analyst DIV Study Program, Faculty of Health Sciences, Setia Budi University Surakarta. Liver damage is caused by several factors, one of which is by consuming alcoholic beverages. Alcoholic beverages are part of everyday human life, the younger generation now consumes alcoholic beverages more often. This study aims to determine the effect of giving alcoholic beverages to mice (Mus Musculus) on liver histopathology, the dose given to mice. The test conducted in this study was an oral acute toxicity test. The first stage of this study was to administer alcoholic beverages to mice (Mus Musculus) for 27 days and 34 days, on the day after the oral administration was completed, the animals tested were operated on. Surgery was carried out to take the liver organs and then fix them using Neutral Buffer Formalin (NBF) 10% and make preparations for the final stage of preparations stained with HE. The results of observations of liver tissue were then classified by histopathological parameters of liver damage and discussed in the discussion. The results of the research on the administration of alcoholic beverages to mice test animals seen from the histopathological picture in the acute toxicity test showed that there were histopathological changes in the form of inflammation, dilatation of sinusoids and steatohepatitis. This shows that alcoholic beverages have the potential to damage the liver. The conclusion of this study is that there is liver damage, namely steatohepatitis.
