Abstract
Green tea compounds containing epigalocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) having effect of neuroprotector that functions in protects the brain from free radicals, easily blood barrier passes through the brain and reached the parenchyma on the brain. Epigalocatechin can reduce ca2 + , reduce damage mitokonria , so as to prevent calcium that excess and protect neuron from damage . The research was conducted by oral administration of water fraction tea leaves 8 mg/kg BW, fraction ethyl acetate 17,5 mg/kg BW, n – heksan fraction 14,5 mg/kg BW, negative control Na - CMC 0.5% and positive control donepezil 0,65 mg/kg BW. After given test solution, induced ethanol 10% with a distance of award ± 1 hour 30 minutes, for 10 days later done testing using Y Maze. Surgically to the uptake of the brain from CA1 hippocampus and the Cortex cerebral. The result showed that an ethyl acetate fraction with a dose 17,5 mg/kg BW test was the most effective of accuracy percentage 63,76% than positive control 61,20% while the others have a percentage smaller 15,67 % to negative control, for normal 50,65%, of water fraction 60,59% and n - heksan fraction 51,35%. For calculation result of total pyramidal cell CA1 hippocampus showed ethyl acetate fraction with a dose 17,5 mg/kg BW was the most effective test with an average number of a cell dies 1,8 while positive control 1,6 another having an average a cell dies more 9,42 for negative control, the normal 4,6, water fraction 2,2 and n - heksan fraction 4,47.
