Abstract
Irrational use of antibiotics can lead to increased resistance to antibiotics. ICU is a place susceptible to nosocomial infection, thus requiring antibiotic rationally in order to minimize the amount of antibiotics used, as well as the evaluation is necessary to improve the quality of antibiotics rational.This research aims to evaluate the use of antibiotics in ICU RSUD Sukoharjo in the periode January – June 2016, with ”Gyssens” Method. This type of research is non-experimental descriptive. Data retrieval in retrospectively from medical records of patients who use antibiotics in ICU. Evaluation is done by using Gyssens. The results of 49 cases, the correct use of antibiotics according to the mothod “Gyssens’ category 0 (ratoinal) 19,15%, IIIa (long use) 1,06%, IIIb (short use) 10,64%, IVa (there are other antibiotics that are more effective) 29,79%, V (no indikation) 0%. Antibiotik are the most widely used is Ceftriaxon (33,33%), Levofloxacin (12,22%) Meropenem (12,22%). Keywords : Antibiotics, Intensive Care Unit, ICU, Gyssens, RSUD Sukoharjo
