Abstract
Asthma is a disease with a high prevalence, for Central Java it self asama achieve prevalence (4.3%). Atshma need attention because asthma can reduce productivity and increase the economic burden. Preliminary studies conducted in RS PKU Muhammadiyah Surakarta showed asthma included in the top 10 most prevalent diseases. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the level of knowledge of compliance that also affect the quality of life of patients with asthma and compliance of drug use as an intermediate variable. This study using cross sectional method (cross-sectional). Using a survey to see how the effect of the level of knowledge of the quality of life and compliance of drug use as an intermediate variable. To determine the level of knowledge of asthma using a questionnaire consisting of 22 questions. To determine the level of compliance using questionnaires Morinsky Medication adherence Scale MMA. To measure the quality of life of patients with asthma. Quality of Life (WHOQOL). Then the three questionnaires was analyzed using path analysis. The third questionnaire is generated qualify the validity and reliabelitas. The result of the analysis there are significant levels of knowledge in asthma patients in the outpatient pharmacy depot RS PKU Muhammadiyah Surakarta to the quality of life with the estimated value of 60,0%. And the level of knowledge affect the compliance of drug use by the estimated value of 47,4%. Compliance of use drug affects the quality of life premises estimated value of 71,9% and compliance of drug use as in intermediate variable, builds up the effect of the level knowledge on quality of life with values estima 39,8% to 42,6% Keywords: asthma, asthma knowledge level, path analysis, compliance
