Abstract
In Pakisan Village, Palihan Urban Village Cawas Subdistrict, Klaten regency some of its residents work as crafters roof tile crasftsman when doing its activites is always contact with lacause high risk of infection dermatofita fungus type. Nails are part of the body often affected by fungal infections will experience abnormalities such as discoloration and fragility. This study aims to determine the presence or absence of dermtophyte fungus on the nail polish craftsman who experienced the fragility and type of dermatophyte fungi contained in the nail polish crafter that experience the fragility. The method used in this examination method was directly using 40% KOH solution and method indirectly using Sabouraud Dextrose Agar medium, incubated at room temperature grown on for 7 days. The results of the research of ten samples of nail polish craftsman w yho experience the fragility and discoloration, found two dermatofita fungi. Type of dermatophyte fungi contained on the nail polish crafter Epidermophyton floccosum. Keywords : Dermatofita, brittle nails, tile craftsman.
